In the excitement of dozens of indie games heading to all PlayStation consoles, you may have missed a few titles like, Metrico, for instance. What's Metrico you ask? I didn't know either, until Sony and developer Digital Dreams today unveiled the new PlayStation Vita exclusive.

At its core, Metrico is an "atmospheric puzzle action game that strives to create a unique mindset of its own." The game, according to level designer Roy van de Mortel was born out of "noticing how beautiful infographics can look as an art form." Check out the unique puzzle platformer in the trailer below.

Although Metrico does not yet have a release date, it has been in development for "a while." It has already seen several unreleased prototypes fle shed out, and the game's last prototype won the Indiepub propeller Award in 2012 for "Best Design." Metrico is just one of the results of Sony's focus on "fostering relationships with publishers and developers that share our goal of bringing the best games to you." As evidenced by the lengthy list of incoming indie games, PlayStation owners are in for a real treat in the coming months -- especially in terms of games that offer a unique art style and innovative gameplay.
